The Tippers

​Brad "Nelson" Phillips, who debuted with The Tippers as their lead guitarist, took over full-time drumming duties in 2016. 



Hailing from Lecompton, Kansas, Nelson graduated from Perry-Lecompton High School in 2010. He then played baseball at Johnson County Community College, where he co-founded The Tippers with Alex Lahasky. While at JCCC, Nelson studied with an emphasis in Recording Arts. He serves as The Tippers primary audio engineer and headed production of Sunflowers EP (2013), as well as the 2021 album, Save a Dance.



Brad graduated from the University of Kansas School of Business in 2015 and, after a six-month stint in Dallas, now designs software for Netsmart in Overland Park, KS.
